I love a glass of wine with my dinner!! But I could do without the whiney kids not liking the dinner I just slaved over. I am sure this happens to most moms, but it is has doubled since we blended our families together! It seems to be the question of the evening, but it seems I don't always have the right answer. And I love to be right, so I started by asking the kids for the correct answer. HaHaHa!!! What do they want??
Here is the list.......
1. Chicken Nuggets
2. Pizza
3. Tacos
4. Tacos
5. Tacos
6. Mac and Cheese
7. Fast Food
8. Sushi
9. Tacos
10. Meatballs
Wow, right?? So I guess we will be having tacos 4 nights a week! But here is the biggest thing that was bugging me about meal time. I would cook a meal and this is what I would hear...........
" My moms doesn't taste like this."
" When my mom makes it she __________."
" My mom makes this so much better!"
And I will be honest in the beginning I would go to bed in tears trying to figure out how to make them happy or how to make it like mom. I would fight with my hubby trying to get him to stop them from putting me down. I will give credit that he tried nicely to correct this but still comments got made. So I had to either learn to let it slide or correct it another way! So I corrected!!
One night I decided to use love and logic. Our oldest Elizabeth decided I didn't make meatballs like her mom does. In the past I would be angry and quiet all through meal time, clean up and go upstairs to regroup. So, in short terms, she won! So this time with a smile on my face, I said why don't you ask your mom how she makes them and then you can make them for us next time?? She sat for a minute not knowing how to reply, then stated that "she is sure even if she asked her mom how to make them, that she couldn't make them the same". Great answer! So I said ok great, then I am sure that the next time I make them you won't have any complaints or you would enjoying helping me?
The other answer I used when they complained, it wasn't like moms is " Well that is fine, everyone makes things different, I'm sure your moms is very good".
I had to use comments like these a few times and now I rarely hear anything about moms cooking!
I would love to hear if there is something that works at meal time with your family that could help us all out!
I also would like to include a taco recipe that my children love and is super easy!
Chicken Nugget Tacos
24 frozen chicken nuggets
1/4 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons Old El Paso taco seasoning mix
1to 2 tablespoons milk
1 box or bag of taco shells
3/4 cup shredded cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
1/2 cup salsa
Bake chicken nuggets as directed on package. Cover to keep warm. Reduce oven to 325 F. Heat taco shells as directed on box.
Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix sour cream, taco seasoning mix and enough mild for desired consistency. Set aside.
Fill each taco shell and tortilla with 2 chicken nuggets cheese, lettuce and salsa. Drizzle each with sour cream mixture.

My favorite photo from September!
I decided to post my favorite photo from September on The Paper Mama Blog Challenge.
This photo is of my two of my girls and I! I love it well for one because it is of me and my girls and because it shows the real us!! We love to have fun and be silly!!
Lets Start Blending!
"Courage doesn't always roar, sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow!!"
I wanted to welcome you with one of my favorite quotes. In my journey of Mommyhood I found in the beginning and even sometimes still today, I needed a boost or encouragement. Sometimes this was from my friends or families and other times it was from books or quotes!
Things get tough and when my day didn't go as planned, every night before bed I would read this quote and remember this isn't easy and nothing happens over night. But most importantly tomorrow is ALWAYS a new day!
With that said, I want to tell you little about me! I am no expert, but have been a StepMom and Blending for 5 years now and want to share my journey from those past years as well as the coming. I want to share the joy, pain, and everything in between!! My hopes are that I can make it easier on at least one person, if not many! I want to be here, to hear from you about your journey, and answer questions if you many have any!
Lets take on Blending together!!
